Marin Headlands
Dear Families,
The Marin Headlands trip will take place from May 21-23, 2025. Outdoor education will be provided by NatureBridge at the “Bluff Campus”.
Program Information
- NatureBridge info here (program, accommodations, activities, schedule)
- 4th and 5th grades attend together, with three teachers and nine parent chaperones
- Children will be divided into groups of ~15, each with a NatureBridge staff member and 2 parent chaperones
- Transportation: chartered school bus to Marin, and chartered coach back to Oakland
Preparation
- Expectations: Please review the Student Expectations with your child
- What to bring: A packing list will be provided 4 weeks before the trip
Payment
Cost per child: $450 (tax deductible). Please make your payment asap. Thank you!
- Complete Payment form (for both Paypal/CC or Paper Check option)
- Paper check instructions: After filling out the payment form, write a check payable to Hillcrest PTA, and deposit it in the envelope in the school office marked “4th/5th Grade Marin Headlands”
Financial Need
- There are limited PTA funds available for families in need of financial assistance. Please complete this confidential form if you need financial assistance. Our goal is that every child will be able to participate.
Two Student Forms Required
In order to participate, the following two forms must be completed (online submission encouraged).
- OUSD permission slip
- NatureBridge participation form (for students, teachers and chaperones)

We Need 9 Parent Chaperones!
Please fill out this form by Monday April 14, 2025 if you are willing to chaperone.
- Chaperones will be selected via random lottery (priority to first-time overnight chaperones, gender minimums, and class distribution)
- Applicants must be qualified as Unsupervised Volunteers and participate in a pre-trip orientation (date tbd)
